Tee It Up in Williamsburg
Your Perfect Golf Weekend Itinerary
Williamsburg has long been known as a destination for golfers, with championship-level courses and plenty of post-round activities. If you’re planning a golf getaway, Rochambeau Roadside Inn makes for the perfect home base. We’re close to the best courses, right in the mix of Williamsburg’s food and brewery scene, and designed for kicking back after a day on the fairways. Here’s how to spend a weekend with us filled with birdies, beers, and good times.
Friday: Arrive + Settle In
Check in, drop your bags, and ease into the weekend.
Casual start: Head over to Virginia Beer Company and check their schedule for live music and food trucks. It’s laid-back, local, and a great way to kick things off. Perfect if your crew’s rolling in on different schedules (because someone always has to “finish up work”).
Prefer a sit-down dinner? Second Street Bistro or Blue Talon Bistro are Williamsburg favorites with menus that cover all the bases and can accommodate larger groups.
Back at Rochambeau, grab a drink and hang by the firepit - easy catch-up, plenty of laughs, and the kind of first night that keeps you fresh for tomorrow’s round.
Saturday: Golf + Good Eats
Starting at 7:30AM on weekends, the lobby makes mornings easy with complimentary local coffee, fresh bread, fruit, and yogurt. For something heartier, grab a locally brewed nitro cold brew on tap or a breakfast sandwich for purchase before teeing off.
Morning round: Tee it up at the Gold Course at Golden Horseshoe, located less than two miles from the inn. It’s one of the area’s most iconic courses.
Looking for another option? The Green Course at Golden Horseshoe or Williamsburg National are both great value and may be easier to snag tee times.
Bonus Round? Check out The Shoe, the newly reopened 9-hole course right next to the Gold Course clubhouse!
After your round, take some time to recharge back at Rochambeau. Maybe sneak in a nap, maybe play some cornhole — it’s your call!
Dinner & evening:
For a solid sit-down meal, make a reservation at Amber Ox, known for elevated Southern fare, fun cocktails, and an awesome beer list.
If you’d rather keep it casual, head to Precarious Beer Project, a brewery and food hall combo with arcade games and rotating events.
Can’t decide? Do both: Amber Ox for dinner, then walk over to Precarious for beers and late-night fun.
Sunday: ANOTHER Round, Just Breakfast, or both!
Start the day with coffee and light breakfast at Rochambeau, or mix it up with a local staple: Capitol Pancake House or Shorty’s Diner, both just around the corner.
If you’re looking to get another round in before heading home, consider Kiskiack Golf Club or Royal New Kent. Both solid options and could be on the way home depending on your route.
