Travel & Leisure’s Best Places to Go in 2026
by the rochambeau team
When the editors at Travel + Leisure released their 2026 “50 Best Places to Go” list, we had one of those grin-from-ear-to-ear moments. Why? Because tucked into their write-up on Colonial Williamsburg was a shoutout to The Rochambeau.
what this means
When we reopened The Rochambeau, our goal was simple: create a stay that felt like home the moment you pulled in. Vintage-inspired rooms. Nods to local history. Thoughtful details layered with intention. A place that felt warm, genuine, and lived-in because authenticity matters to us.
So this mention from Travel + Leisure feels like a moment to pause, give thanks, and acknowledge how far this hometown vision has come and how far it might carry us. We’re especially excited that our story will reach new faces and bring more visitors to the place we’re proud to call home.
What t&L Noticed
In the Colonial Williamsburg section, the editors spotlight the region as ‘the world’s largest living museum,’ filled with original and reconstructed 18th-century buildings — and note that 2026 will be an especially meaningful year as the nation celebrates America250.
They also call out The Rochambeau directly:
“There’s no shortage of charming hotel options, but catching the eye of T+L editors for 2026 is the newly renovated Rochambeau Roadside Inn, a boutique hotel with 22 vintage-inspired rooms and suites, including some with cute bunk beds.” — Jessica Vadillo
Seeing our roadside inn captured alongside destinations across the world is a surreal and deeply meaningful moment for our team.
